Born out of a challenge
Digital education makes sense. And digital education can be frustrating! These are the two extremes that teachers at schools, vocational colleges, and universities face every day. There are only a few software solutions tailored specifically to the needs of teachers and learners: solutions that are intuitive to use and flexible enough to adapt to any teaching scenario.

“Software should really enable what I, as a teacher, want and need to do. Not the other way around.”
…complained my father, a teacher at a private vocational college in Cologne.
His wish:
“I need a tool that lets me distribute documents directly to my students’ PCs, work on them together with the class, and supervise exams.”
Together we worked out what the software, which we named “RoomControl”, should be able to do: it had to be so easy to use that even colleagues without much technical experience would enjoy working with it. And flexible enough for small and large groups of students to work on different tasks in parallel, with each group supported, supervised, or moved to another group as needed. Intuitive, with a click of the mouse.
1Shaped by feedback from teachers
To stay as close as possible to everyday teaching practice, we developed and refined “RoomControl” in direct dialogue with the teaching staff of the Berufsakademie für Medienberufe, a vocational academy for media professions. The result is a pedagogical interface that lets teachers handle the tasks and challenges of digital teaching without any hassle.
2Perfected in the pilot phase
RoomControl has been used successfully in adult education for several years now and is continuously being developed further. Direct feedback from teachers flows straight into the development process, as do lessons learned from on-site technical service.
In 2024, our young start-up received the Gründungsstipendium, the founders’ grant of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which gave us another decisive push toward the market. One milestone is the adoption of our solution by vocational schools of the City of Cologne.
